Experience
-I tutored younger children and high school students while I was in high school. As part of my AP Biology course, I had to tutor younger biology students for 10 hours over the course of a semester. I am also a teaching assistant for the Introduction to Logic course at SUNY Geneseo and hold office hours weekly to help people who are struggling in the class. -SATs -Critical Reading: 800 -Math: 670 -Writing: 790 -SAT IIs: -Biology: 770 -English Literature: 780 -Math II: 720 -I would love to be a tutor because I truly enjoy helping other people learn and I have been told that I'm very good at it. I am friendly and I work well with explaining abstract concepts. -Some concepts I learned from my freshman writing seminar entitled Philosophical Themes in Science Fiction will be particularly helpful to me as a tutor. This class taught me how to integrate several different topics into my writing and relate them to one another to prove a point. This will help me to draw examples from many different subjects in order to make the things I am trying to teach more clear. -I have held the same job at The Clog Shop (clogkingdom.com) in Oceanside, NY for over 3 years and continue to work for them from school and over breaks. I also currently have a 3.95 GPA and I was recently inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma national honor society.

Hobbies
Since I'm a vocal performance major, I'm very passionate about music. I sing opera and classical music and I play the piano. I also perform in theatrical and musical theater productions. I also love reading. I like mystery/crime novels in particular. I enjoy learning languages -- I took 6 years of Latin and 2 years of Italian in high school and I took a semester of French this past summer.
